Gullah/Geechee Nation International Music & Movement Festival™ 2009

 
 

The Gullah/Geechee Nation International Music & Movement Festival™ was founded by Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation and Kwame Sha of All Mobile Productions (www.ampturnitup.com) .   This festival seeks to celebrate and reconnect the African Diasporic links of the Gullah/Geechee Nation.   The artists and presenters of the festival are natives of the Gullah/Geechee Nation and those of the countries that are focused on for a particular year.  Hunnuh git fa yeddi frum de peepol wha lib de ting!


2009 will be the “Gullah/Geechee Golden Isles Gala.” 

The event will be held August 21-23, 2009.

• Opening Libation Ceremony and Gullah/Geechee Presentations at the “Colored Memorial School”

• Celebrating Our Sounds Concert at “Selden Park”

• Gullah/Geechee films and discussions at “Respect for Life Bookstore”
