Spay and Neuter Clinics
 

If you are interested in having your pet spayed/neutered and are considered low income, the NYS Agriculture and Markets voucher program ($20 to spay/neuter) might be for you. Qualifications are as follows:

1. You must own the pet AND,

2. You must have one of the following:
- low income housing
- temporary assistance
- Medicaid
- Food stamps
- Social Security Insurance (SSI)

Please contact the NYS Ags/Markets at 1 (888) 669-0870 or http://www.agmkt.state.ny.us/AI/apc.html to obtain the voucher form. You must fill the form out and then send it back in to receive a list of participating veterinarians in your area. The following veterinary clinics participate in this voucher program:

ALBANY COUNTY VETS 
Albany County, Colonie, Delmar Vet, Guilderland Animal Hospital, Parkside, Shaker Vet, Just Cats 

SCHENECTADY COUNTY VETS: 
Schenectady, Niskayuna, Glenville Vet, Schoharie Valley, and Hernas

2009 CAT SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAMS:
1)  Guilderhaven, inc.(Love Me Spay Me)  is partnering with the Animal Protective Foundation (APF) to provide low cost spay/neuter for cats every Thursday.  The cost is $70.00 and includes spay/neuter, complete vet check, test for feleuk/fiv, and rabies vaccination.  Location is 53 Maple Avenue in Scotia, NY. 2)  SCRUFF performs spay/neutering for feral cats every third Sunday of he month.  The cost is $35.00 and includes spay/neuter, rabies shot, distemper.  An additional $15.00 for the feleuk/fiv test.  Call Judy Janco at (518) 439-6276 for more information.

3)  CAT CARE COALITION performs spay/neuter clinics for low income residents.  The cost is $60.00 and includes a complete vet check, spay/neuter, test for feleuk/fiv, deworking, rabies and distemper vaccinations. 2009 DOG SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM:
This year we have started to offer a low cost dog spay/neuter program in conjunction with Rotterdam Veterinary Clinic and Central Veterinary Clinic.  The costs are as follows:
Male dog neuter (regardless of size):  $80
Female dog spay (60 lbs or less):  $120

The cost above includes the spay/neuter, Rabies vaccination and testing for heartworm.  Please contact Sue at (518)861-6861 to set up an appointment or for more information.
