Day 2: New Orleans to La Place, LA

This morning we left New Orleans on a ferry boat for a 7 mile trip up the Mississippi. That’s my bike leaning up against the rail on the right side of the picture. There are 4 Bike Fridays on this trip: 3 like mine and 1 recumbent.

I was amazed at the huge ocean-going ships from all over the world that travel this river to the various ports.

An easy ride today - just 37 miles, and the first 22 miles were on a bike path, which allowed us to get the kinks out and test our bikes. The picture above shows us getting ready to board the ferry boat along the Riverwalk in New Orleans. You can view a few more pictures here.
