Friend and mentor,
Jack Meanwellhttp://jackmeanwell.com/

Thank you for visiting,

We offer semi-private Instruction for ages 9 and up, beginners to advanced and have a great little gallery on site.  We have a very nice, fully equipped, north lit studio.  Never more than 9 students.  Students work on their own ideas at their own pace.  Casual, atmosphere, with good coffee and music.  Come for a day or a year.

Goals

  1. Emphasize making art as an ongoing process that involves the student in informed and critical decision making.

  2. Help students develop technical skills and familiarize them with functions of visual elements.

  3. Encourage students to become independent thinkers who will contribute inventively and critically to their culture through the making of art.

I would like to invite you to visit my gallery and/or teaching studio.  Call or email with any questions, or to schedule a visit.

I can't begin to tell you how much I am enjoying doing the miniature paintings and the technique you showed me.  Can't wait to show you the "Mill" scene I started in class the other day and hear your comments.  It is still realistic looking, but I find I am looking for details I did not look for before. Thank you so much for your wise counsel.  Mickie Timmons

Just wanted you to know how much your instruction means to me.  It is literally like going toward the light at the end of the tunnel.  Your points are well-explained and timely, you are very careful and patient with other people and their feelings.  I have watched you encourage students and make the same points with great enthusiasm and patience week after week.  It is so important to be fresh yet kind.

Besides being an awesome artist, your teaching is phenomenal.  Your ability to get simple and complicated concepts across, in my opinion is so well done that I am actually learning to draw!  In short, I appreciate you and your professionalism, yet warmth.

Till next week,

Judy Avner

P.S.  Try not to let your head get too big because of my note.....

Hi Greg,

It was really great to get to stop in this past weekend. It looks like everything is going really well at the new location and your students seem to be great. Anyway, click here to see list of scholarships I told you I'd send you. I really meant it when I said that I think your classes had a lot to do with the success I've had and continue to have- much more than my classes at school.

Thank you so much- let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. I'd love to help out however I can.

Thanks again,

Courtney

Hi Greg!

Thanks, and have a fabulous week.  Your style of teaching is so refreshing, the class is the highlight of my week.  Thanks for making a wannabe artist feel the "freedom" to express and experiment with each project.  See you on Saturday!    Tina
