This site is devoted to my digital photography.  I remember as a kid asking my father if I could take photographs through our telescope. There were technical reasons, still beyond my grasp at the time, that made this impossible.  The digital camera changed all that and opened the door to photographing birds with high-powered telescopes as lenses.  My current set-up includes a Leica 77mm APO telescope with a 20x lens.  I use the discontinued Nikon Coolpix 990 with a custom-made adapter which allows me to mount the camera to the scope.  I also use a Nikon D80 with the Nikon 70-300 VR lens for photographing passerines.
