Welcome to our first junior club newsletter. Our aim is to keep you better informed throughout the new season about what is going on. A new website for Drefach Football club www.drefachfc.co.uk will be available shortly, and this will include information about the junior section.

The junior committee would like to thank the players for their effort, enthusiasm and good behaviour throughout the season. We also wish to thank the parents for their support, and we are encouraging anyone who wishes to contribute to the future success of the football club to come forward. Finally, we wish to thank the coaches, committee and volunteers who give their time to ensure our players are able to play throughout the season.

Players

We now have over 40 registered players – Primary school children between the ages of 6 - 11 and we currently have 3 teams (two Under 9’s & one Under 11’s) competing in the Carmarthen Mini League on the Astroturf at Johnstown leisure centre. By September 2007 we hope to have an Under 12’s team (11 a side). We welcome any new players, boys and girls.

Club Organisation

To continue to grow as a junior section we will need more people to get involved on and off the field. New compulsory Club accreditation rules have been introduced by the Football Association of Wales and must be in place by September. These include strict guidelines on player registration, insurance, coaching qualifications, welfare issues etc. All these changes are designed to benefit the club and the children, but it does involve a lot more work. We have formed a junior committee to organise our work, and we are working with the senior football committee to plan for the new season.

We would like more people to join us so that we can move the club forward more effectively by sharing the workload on the existing committee members. If you would like to find out more, please contact Gareth or Nicola.

Coaching

We currently have four qualified coaches within the junior section; we will be increasing this number by the end of September, thank you to those who have already volunteered.

Mae’r pwyllgor iau eisiau diolch yn fawr i’r chwaraewyr am eu ymdrech, brwdfrydedd ac ymddygiad dda trwy gydol y tymor. Hoffwn ddiolch i rhieni am eu cymorth, ac yn annog unrhyw un sydd eisiau cyfrannu at lwyddiant ein clŵb yn y dyfodol i ddod ymlaen. I gloi ni’n diolch I’r hyforddwyr, pwyllgor a gwirfyddolwyr am rhoi eu amser i wneud siwr fod ein plant yn gallu chwarae trwy y tymor.

Chwaraewyr

Mae gennym dros 40 o chwaraewyr cofrestredig - Plant ysgol gynradd oedrannau rhwng 6 – 11. Mae gennym ar y funud 3 tim (dau tîm o dan 9 ac un o dan 11) yn cystadlu yng ngyngrair iau Caerfyrddin ar y cae pob tywydd yng Nghanolfan Hamdden Tre Ioan. Erbyn mis Medi 2007 ni’n gobeithio cael tîm dan 12 (11 bob ochr). Ni’n croesawu unrhyw Chwaraewyr newydd, bechgyn a merched.

Trefniadaeth y clwb

I cadw tyfu fel clwb iau, fydd eisiau fwy o pobl I helpu, ar ac oddi ar y cae. Mae cymdeithas Pel-droed Cymru wedi cyflwyno Rheolau Achredu Clwb newydd sy’n orfodol a bydd yn rhaid eu gweithredu erbyn mis Medi. Mae hyn yn cynnwys canllawiau llym o ran cofrestru chwaraewyr, yswiriant, hyfforddwyr cymwys, materion yn ymwneud a lles ac ati. Bydd yr holl newidiadau hyn o fudd mawr I’r Clwb a’r plant, ond mae’n golygu llawer iawn mwy o waith. Ni wedi ffurfio pwyllgor iau i drefni ein gwaith a ni hefyd yn gweithio gyda’r pwyllgor uwch.
