History
Drefach Football Club was formed in September 1980 when a group of young Drefach boys knocked on the front door of Derrick Lewis’ house and asked if he would help them start a football team. That group of boys was made up of David Morgan, Mark Smith, Andrew O’Leary, Robert Mckie, Andrew Walters, Emyr Lewis and Gregor Morgan.
Derrick agreed to turn up and run a training session and the rest, as they say, is history.
Mark Jenkins was soon brought on board and the ‘Cloughie and Taylor’ of Drefach were never to look back.
