Chipping Norton
Folk Club

We meet at The Fox Hotel, Market Place, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire on the second Monday of each month at 8 pm. If you enjoy listening to live, informal acoustic music, then this is the place. Sing, play or recite and you are guaranteed a warm and respectful audience - we don't have a PA system so everybody listens. Disabled access.

Crib sheets are discouraged but, if you must, a 50p fine goes to local charities.

Entrance is £1.00 which subsidises the occasional professional artist at the Parish Rooms.

What is Folk Music?
You may have the image of an old fart with a finger in his ear singing. The song is probably about death and thirty verses long. But then,  I’m not the only singer in the club.

Really, it’s whatever you want to perform in a “folk club”. We have had songs from the shows, classical tenor arias, music hall, and lots more besides.
