Welcome.

I offer classes and sessions in hatha yoga, yin yoga, and yoga/dance for people of all ages; storytelling yoga and children’s yoga for kids and families; and gentle chair yoga for elders and people with special needs.

In each of these contexts I hope to help students become more deeply rooted in their own breath and movement, finding at the core of the experience some new energy, clarity, self-respect, strength, humor, compassion, resilience, joy...

I find all of these things in practicing yoga.  A regular yoga practice can be healing for people who have experienced loss or violence, and can be a source of comfort and strength for dealing with all kinds of challenges, even as it improves general health in a variety of ways.  For all of these reasons, I want to help make yoga more accessible to people with various income levels, physical conditions, cultural and personal backgrounds.  I like this quote, from Yoga to the People in New York City:

“...this power is for everyone: yoga to the people--all bodies rise!"

I love this work, and look forward to hearing from you.
