Grant Duncan

I was born and raised on the outskirts of the famous wine growing area of the Barossa Valley, in the town of Gawler. I attended Gawler East Primary, prior to my lengthy daily commute for secondary schooling at Pulteney Grammar School, in the city of Adelaide.

I completed my undergraduate dental education at Adelaide University, an important time in my life, helping me to formulate my current view on the education process. During these university years I was keenly involved in rowing, representing South Australia in 4 Kings Cups, and winning the Australian coxed 4 championship, and numerous SA and interstate titles.

I completed my graduate training at the University Of Manitoba in Canada, where i met my beautiful wife Margaret. We have been married for 25 years, and have 4 wonderful children.

I spent 7 years in Sydney following my graduation, in my own specialist orthodontic practice. In 1991 we returned to Adelaide, opening practices in Norwood, Modbury, and recently Golden Grove. My professional interests have focused on the orthodontic treatment of adults and children, with a special interest in early orthopaedic treatment in growing children, the comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment of complex cases, and the use of technology to obtain superior smiles quicker, with less appointments, and with invisible orthodontics.

I have come from a strong family culture of community service, with such diverse interests as the local baseball club (President and now Patron), Salvation Army (area leader for Red Shield appeal), the South Australian Foundation for Dental Education and Research (Board member and now President) and teaching (Clinical instructor University of Adelaide graduate Orthodontic programme).

I have been involved in various forums to advance dental education, most noticeably  as Founding President of the Australasian Orthodontic Study Club, and Co-Founding Director of the Adelaide Seattle Study Club

I am passionate about orthodontics, love my patients and what we achieve together, and am dedicated to leaving the world a better place for those who follow.
