Parents’ Participation

Mrs. Mailyn Anthony -

“It was such a wonderful experience being in your workshop. Thank you!  Parents' participation is really great, it helped me a lot in facilitating and reinforcing my daughter, Emily's, desire for learning.  She really improved in many ways, especially in developing her memory skills. (She now values an understanding of the material so she can internalize and memorize.)

Looking forward to being in your next class.  Thanks again!

Lasting Effect

Sherry Higgins -

“Thanks for having parents in your workshops - you were right - it really helps to be present in order to understand what my boy is doing in class - especially since he is so little (only three) and can't always tell me what he did.  Griffin loved your class and had a lot of fun.  I appreciate all that you taught me as well.  He still has not auditioned as he had a tae kwon do belt exam last Saturday and missed Disney.  Maybe next month - we will see.

Thanks again for everything - your creativity and professionalism will have a lasting effect on Griff.  By the way, he has the lead part in his holiday program “The Shoemaker” - he is the shoemaker - should be fun to watch.  We hope to catch up with you in another class sometime soon.

Working professional at 5!

Brenda Smith -

“Grant I have been so busy with Morgan's shoots and auditions, girls playing football, Kumon, Spanish homework, etc....I am just now getting back to you.  I don't submit anymore on LA Casting since June, we can only make the auditions our agent sends us on, (and thanks for putting me in touch with her, too).

Morgan had 3 spots with 3 days of shooting on the JCPenny commercial she did last week.  The director said that he has worked with a lot of kids and she is one of the best he has worked with.  That was cool of him to say.  Thanks for all your help too.  “She had an audition today with Quilted Northern Bath Tissue and tomorrow she has an audition with Walmart.  That little 5 year old is staying busy.

Subject: and the winner is...

Hi Grant!  Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day holiday.  I just wanted to share something fun that happened to us this weekend.  We went to the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival, where they have a contest to award the cutest kids ages 3 through 6 with a trophy.  The kids have to go on stage, speak on the mike in front of the amphitheater audience with the emcee, then go over to have a private conversation with the 5 judges (who are the ones to make the actual decisions).

Well, not only did Brandon win for his age category, but he also went on to be chosen amongst the finalists as the "Tiny Tot King!"

I couldn't wait to tell you about this, because Brandon really did shine and stood out from the rest, and I'd like to attribute some of that to the confidence he's been given from your classes.  The emcee really didn't know how to communicate well with kids, so I reminded Brandon that he could take the initiative during his interview to do something cute (as you've taught the kids to take the initiative in offering to share their commercials without being asked).  Brandon politely responded to the emcee's questions, then asked the man if he'd like to hear a joke.  Well, the rest is history!

This honor of being chosen Tiny Tot King also meant that he and his Queen were invited to ride on a float the following morning in the city's parade.

Brandon had a perma-smile, and I don't think he stopped waving during the entire mile and a half route!  One of the judges even came up to us that next day to congratulate Brandon, and I thanked her for her contribution in voting for him.  She very sweetly told me, "There wasn't even any competition!"

Anyway, I wanted to send you a picture of him with his royal court.  Brandon certainly stood six feet tall that day!

Thanks again for everything.

Subject: Your Agent Referral

Hello Grant!  I just wanted to update you on our new Talent Agent, since you were kind enough to refer us to her.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed being involved in your class (and Brandon certainly has, too!).  I really liked what you did with the kids last week as far as video taping them and offering the feedback.  Brandon was very interested in this and was asking me all sorts of questions about your comments on the ride home.  He really wanted to take from what you were advising.

Thanks again for your time.
