A-D Conversion Test
A-D Conversion Test
Instructions You will need to download ALL 4 Zip fils then put all the audio files in the Protools session folder.
You do not have to use Protools but you will not have the playback levels calibrated.
Not a total must but enough for an OK subjective test.
So to add to the many discussions I decided to test all of my convertors I use
-Apogee Rosetta 800
-Apogee AD-16X
-Lynx Aurora 8
-Digidesign 192 •The Test
-All Convertors were clocked @ 44.1 Sample Rate with an Apogee Big Ben
-All Convertors were direct connected with Protools HD version 7.4.2
-The sessions can be open with Protools LE
- did a manual phase align later in the session - FWIW they do not phase cancel. So with that said there are audible differences in the files. The original files files are included in the session
-If you look at the comments you will see the calibration levels and the gain that was done on each file before recording some convertors had different calibration levels so I calibrated the output of each track. So the trim plug-in is important to keep it on.
-All of the tracks were recorded analog so this is an Analog to Digital Conversion test
-Feel free to leave a comment
-Thanks for listening
