Happy early birthday!/anniversary!
Choose your own adventure

Surprise!

Hi hon! So I’m not going to make a habit of combining birthday and anniversary gifts, but seeing as we’re traveling on our anniversary, I thought I could celebrate you twice as much on your birthday.

Here’s the game: Did you ever read those choose-your-own-adventure books when you were growing up (or yesterday)? Well this is kind of like that. I’m taking you on a trip for your birthday. Departing March 31 and arriving back in the Jose April 2 (no need to take extra time off we don’t have). But you get to choose the trip. We’ll have to book soon if we want to guarantee all the options.

Option 1: Las Vegas.

Stay in a luxurious suite on the Vegas strip, relax by the pool, drop $100 on the Tar Heels in the national title game ($100 included in choice), and go see a cirque show of your choice.

Option 2: Seattle.

Stay by the famous fish market, eat some sushi, go see a concert (Blind Melon is in town) or a baseball game or both, explore a city we’ve never been to.

Option 3: San Antonio.

Stay on the Riverwalk, Go to the National Championship game (1 ticket included). Feast on ribs and burritos. Take a day-trip to Austin.

Option 4: Napa/Sonoma Valley

Stay at a spa. Eat like kings. Drink the best of the best wines. Relax.

Option 4: Vancouver

Eat fish. Kayak with Orcas. Go to a hockey game. Explore.

Option 5: Choose a different adventure. Because it’s a short weekend, time will keep us from going anywhere East of Denver, South of San Diego, North of Vancouver or West of Santa Cruz. I looked into Hawaii and Mexico, but taking those flights basically left us with about eight hours at the location before we’d have to leave. Still, you may have some better ideas than I do.

In any event, I love you favorite!

Happy New Year!

Before Tiff and I head out to San Francisco for the Cake show and some debauchery we’re wishing the best to you and yours... and whatever else you’re supposed to say. And I mean that with the upmost sincerity.
Hope you can celebrate like this tonight (and that the Wolverine nation can celebrate like this tomorrow).

San Diego

Things we learned on our Christmas trip to San Diego:
1. My mom can rock guitar hero.
2. Heather likes to spoon - especially at my parents’ house.
3. Two buck Chuck really isn’t that bad.

It was a quick, but awesome, trip to one of the coolest places around.
Here are some photos.

And, don’t worry, dad, we’re already saving five nickels a day for next year.

Merry Christmas Tiff!
Posted Thursday, December 20, 2007
Since my website didn’t work out so great as a Christmas gift, how’s about I treat you to some concert tickets and dinner on New Year’s Eve in San Francisco? (we’ll have to make it back for the bowls on Tuesday, though).

My first post
Posted Thursday, December 20, 2007
Merry Christmas to me! Tiff surprised me with this website tonight (which looks spectacular, I might add). Little did she know that I had also been creating a web page as her Christmas present, however it was not nearly as good or refined as this one.

Here’s my lone post:

Oh well. I did, at least contribute the domain name. So instead of typing a bunch of macnonsense, it’s simply www.grandpease.com. You can check out my pathetic blog at www.grandstaffpease.blogspot.com.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! And welcome to our new site — where we’ll be posting photos, video and other weird stuff from our latest adventures. We’re celebrating California-style in sunny San Diego. Hopefully that’ll involve some enchiladas and lots of margaritas!

Worst football year ever
Posted Sunday December 16, 2007
While Chris had already dubbed 2007 his worst football year ever, he took it to a new level when Mary Ann was in town:

‘If Ohio State beats LSU in the national championship game, this will be the worst year of my life. And I got married this year.’

Hmmmmm .......

Best Chicago Pizza - in San Jose?
Posted Sunday, December 16, 2007
It’s been decided that the Blackhawk from San Jose’s own Pizz’A Chicago might be the best pizza ever. From their menu:

Sausage, ricotta cheese, sweet red pepper, lemon zest, fresh oregano, cracked black pepper. As sensational as Bobby Hull.

Mmmmmm .... Pizza ....
