A Night of Fun and Music

Just a note to all our fans right off the bat; This Summer (2008), from June 1st until mid October, the River House Restaurant will be closed due to much needed renovations. The old girl has sprung a few leaks and, because it is a Historical site, must be repaired and maintained to preserve it’s charm.
Peaches and Heavy Cream will be appearing at a few different venues during this time and want you to be at the top of the information loop, See the NEW “Where Are They Now” page with our latest scheduled appearances.
For those of you “first timers”, here’s a little bit about us.

Are you ready for something a little different? Kinda’ over the high pressure club scene and feel like you just want to relax and be entertained? Well, my friend, head for the river...The River House Restaurant downtown Fort Lauderdale, that is. That is where you will find a couple of talented, fun loving and a little crazy entertainers named Francine Recchi and Paul Pettitt.

These two performers, who casually sit at the piano bar, cover the whole gamut of songs from Ella Fitzgerald to Pussy Cat Dolls, Sinatra to Maroon 5 and sing it like it was their own. Top 40 Pop, Rock, Country, Standards, Disco, Ballads, Classic Oldies and the latest Dance Hits... You can either sing along with all your favorite songs or just sit back and watch everybody else have fun.

Occasionally you’ll become a part of the “Experiment in Terror”. It’s our version of stump the band. We haven’t decided whether or not it’s more terrifying for the audience or us, but we go for it anyway. Our motto is “No Song Left Behind!”

And, if all this doesn’t bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eye, suddenly, Marilyn Monroe walks in the joint looking for a “Big Spender” and then, later on, Elton John makes an appearance in search of his “Tiny Dancer”.

It’s 3 hours, and then some, of non-stop music, laughter, dancing and the occasional “That’s Amore” sing along. Watch out for Francine’s frequent trips through the crowd to pump up the fun along with the occasional guest celebrity. (Was that Bon Jovi last week singing “Living on a Prayer”? Just ask anyone who was there, it was a magic night.) Add all this to the best cuisine around and a full bar staffed by the friendliest servers you can find (we even get them in on the act .. a little song and dance every now and then) and you’ll wonder where the time went again and again.

We’re also right down the street from the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and welcome you before and after the show. If you go to The River House Restaurant website, there are specials for those who attend the theater.

“Peaches and Heavy Cream”, as we are known by our friends, (‘cause she’s got the “peaches” and he’s ... well... you know...) perform every Friday and Saturday night at the fabulous River House Restaurant.
Friday night’s fun is from 6:00 - 10:00 P.M. (or even longer sometimes if the crowd just won’t go home). Also, each Friday you can enjoy Happy Hour (5:00 - 7:00 P.M.) which includes 2 for 1 cocktails and a complimentary Sushi Buffet.
Saturday night’s music starts at 8:00 P.M. ‘til we all fall down from exhaustion.

This Just In ..... Marilyn Monroe Martini Mayhem has just been scheduled for the Second Saturday of Each Month! Come enjoy your favorite Martinis and let Miss Monroe take you back to a sexier time while she sings atop the piano.

Start Your Weekend Early !!! Beginning in October, from 7:00 until 11:00 PM, you can enjoy Peaches and Heavy Cream every Thursday night too!!! We can’t wait to see you all, now

The River House Restaurant is located @ 301 S.W. 3rd. Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312 It is very easy to find.

From I-95, head EAST on Broward Blvd. to SW 3rd Ave., just before the RR Tracks. Turn Right and follow to the end. That cul de sac is the valet parking area for the River House. Congratulations.

From east of Andrews Ave., head WEST on Broward Blvd and cross the RR Tracks. Turn Left @ SW 5th Ave (7-11) and then Left again @ Himmarshee St. Go 2 Blocks and turn Right @ SW 3rd Ave. Go to end. That cul de sac is the valet parking area for the River House. Congratulations.
