Denise Lawungkurr Goodfellow

Welcome! Within these pages you can learn a little about the fauna and flora of the Top End of Australia’s Northern Territory, and some of the NT’s residents.

I am a birdwatching/natural history guide, a biological/cross-cultural consultant  and the author or co-author of five books, mainly on birds of the Top End.  As a member of an Aboriginal clan  I am able to introduce readers to the perspective of an “old lady”, an honourable title among Aboriginal people of the western Top End.

My everlasting thanks to friends Dr. Ellen Rudolph for looking after this site for so many years, and to Jim Conrad, previously of Earthfoot and Brian Mullis of Sustainable Travel International for their mentorship.

My PhD is on birders who travel internationally as couples.  This site has a link to my questionnaire.  There is very little research on this topic, so if you qualify, please fill it out.

Thank you
