It’s been a couple of years since gomercentral has been around, but in thinking how I might want to remake my online presence and how I could arrange the various web projects and their components, I decided to go for the .mac route (since I have it anyway) and use iWeb for its development. This both makes for an easy design and a good way for me to test out iWeb and check out its capabilities.
Every few years it seems I dump a site entirely, not only losing the design, but also all the content. I hope that doesn’t happen this time. Maybe I won’t become so bored so easily.
For those of you thinking, “iWeb? But it’s not a real development OR blogging tool!”, all I can say is that it’s improving. While iWeb 1.0 featured some crummy templates, iWeb 1.1 features some new templates, as well as improved loading on .mac accounts and increased blog functionality, for comments and searching on an archive. Though these features are nothing new to old school web developers and bloggers, it shows that Apple has every intention of building this package up to become a full-featured web development tool.
Hopefully I’ll be able to plan and organize a weekly podcast to be included here that is entertaining enough to capture some kind of an audience among you faithful readers.
