My name is John. I live in Providence, RI, with my roommate Jody and two cats (mine is Squeaky, his is Ariel). I spend way too much time at place of employment, Brown University, as a Systems Manager for the campus bookstore.
I am a technology nerd, especially interested in consumer technology, gadgets, and life hacks. I also like to write about technology, in the form of an updated-too-infrequently blog called Effluxity. I read profusely, preferring poetry and non-fiction to fiction, though I do enjoy some good thriller and fantasy novels.
I consider myself a seeker in all areas of life, seeking better ideas, better technology, better understanding of the world and faith, and better ways to live my life.
