Eldorado experienced a very nice crowd over the Fourth of July weekend. Our rounds were up eighteen percent. On Sunday morning Eldorado had less than fifty golfers on the tee sheet and by the time the day was over, we had done over two-hundred and forty rounds. Most of the golfers we had just wanted to come out and get a quick eighteen in and then travel back to their homes or camps.

Members of Eldorado renew their wedding vows. Keith and Cindy Ball renew their commitment with each other on their fortieth wedding anniversary behind the ninth and eighteenth hole. The ceremony was attended by over one-hundred and fifty people.

The record of seventy-three holes played in one day at Eldorado was broken today. Dan Macissac, Jeff Klymson, Charlie Stetson, and Chris Guido played eighty-three holes. The group from Chicago started at 5:10 am and finished at 9:55 pm. They looked a little tired and sun burned but seemed to be in very good spirits after a long day at the links. We hope to see them next year and we are pulling for them to play eighty-four holes in 2010!

Kris Swaffer scores a 69 at Eldorado playing from the tips. Kris Swaffer was playing with Ryan Bruntjens, Brian Campbell, and Detroit Tigers pitcher Dave Rozema. Kris’ son, Bud Swaffer, came and played Eldorado at 7:00 am and shot the best round of golf in his life, scoring a 71. We did not know if his score deserved more praise or the fact that he was awake at 7:00 in the morning...Congratulations Bud.

Adrian Campbell finished painting the clubhouse. We were amazed that he was able to pressure wash, prime, and paint the entire facility in under a week.

Eldorado has experienced a very nice increase in play and if all goes well, we will show a 19 percent rise in rounds played this month.
Green speed at Eldorado has hit 10 for the first time this year. The ground staff usually waits until mid June to pick up the pace so expect faster greens each week throughout the next two months.
Don’t forget to get your children in our junior program every Friday! We have the largest number of students in our history and we are happy to see that our largest staff of teachers are very enthusiastic to teach our youth.

Eldorado had the Deputy Sheriff Association of Michigan this past Friday and we were pleased to see an increase in participants from the 2008 season. Marty Dahlstrom, who has run this event for the past eleven years, was very pleased to have raised so much money for charity this year.
Thursday game will have a celebrity playing in the event this week. Dave Rosema from the Detroit Tigers will be here so come on out and get his autograph and or play with him to see if you can beat a major leaguer.

July Third Explosion
Eldordo will be hosting an Independence Weekend Tournament on July 3rd. This tournament will be a two person handicapped scramble with net skins. The teams can be men, women, or man and woman. Please call to book a spot on the roster.

Brian Campbell Ties Course Record
Brian becomes the first amateur to score 67 at Eldorado. Brian tied two Professional Golf Associatin members on May 15, 2008 with fourteen pars, three birdies, and an eagle on number ten. Campbell played with Kris Swaffer, Randy Heredia, and Tim Roller. Tim Roller said Brian’s round was the best ball striking he had ever seen in his twenty-seven years of competitive golf.

BEAR SIGHTINGS AT ELDORADO
Reggie Mirabitur, a member of Eldorado, gave us several pictures that were taken between our 8th and 16th hole. He has spent a lot of time hunting at Eldorado and was nice enough to share what he has seen out on our course.
