The on-going project. The project that will not die. IT LIVES!! <cue the thunderbolts>
For most of our time in this house, the basement has been my workshop (in a small corner) and the rest as a place to store stuff. It has, for the most part, been unfinished and unused, other than storage, not unlike the the final vast warehouse scene in that Indiana Jones movie. A dumping ground. Don’t know where to put something?...the basement! Several years ago, it became a little more finished out of necessity as my next-door sister-in-law and her family moved in temporarily while their house was being remodeled. There was a “main room”, a “bedroom”, a “kitchen”, and a small “bathroom”. Sufficient and cheap (i.e. free).
Two years ago, I started to enlarge the downstairs bathroom. I pushed out a wall a few feet, remodeled everything, and made it much more “a real bathroom”.
Today, the project continues. There is an immediate need for another sister-in-law to have some temporary space. To make the space a complete apartment-type space, I’ve begun painting and finishing. I’m not exactly sure how this will turn out but without question, the basement project has been taken to the “next level” (but still below the main level).
Oh, and for big tree news...the original tree service had a better offer and decided to bow out, The second tree service has us scheduled for Wednesday at 7:00am. The neighbors will love us.
