The Dominican Republic shares the island of Hispanola with Haiti, but the living conditions there are far better. This is thanks to a stable government and a thriving tourist industry.

Still, Dominican has its share of problems, and the Gospel of Christ is much needed. GWI focuses its work on the marginalized areas around the city of Puerto Plata, on the North Atlantic coast.

GWI meets the immediate need through "compassion ministries" like the new DominiKids Orphanage Project and Medical ministries through the C.U.R.E. National Hospital in Santo Domingo.

GlobeWorks also conducts week-long Native Pastor's Training Conventions several times a year, and supports hundreds of Spanish and French pastors as they plant churches in the islands.

The DominiKids Orphanage will house approximately 100 boys and girls taken in from the streets of the Black Water slums of Puerto Plata.

GlobeWorks also is constructing Rural Village houses for deserving indigent families, 2 bedroom completed cottages are being built for $8,000 USD (272,000 PESOS).
