THE OBJECTIVES OF LEL
The LEL system is a simple but unique framework with these objectives: 
Teach leaders to be more effective leaders and make the mental shifts necessary to do that.
Drive a culture of continual improvement that permeates both working life and home life for every participant.
Make a significant shift away from REACTIVE CORRECTION to PROACTIVE GROWTH.
Create a business framework that sets business improvement methodologies (such as Lean Six Sigma) up for success.
Support the successful implementation of any business excellence framework such as USA’s Baldridge Award System or Australia’s BEF Award System.

HOW THE LEL SYSTEM WORKS
The LEL system is structured like this: 
Corporate / Business Objectives and Initiatives are cascaded down into a 1-year EXECUTION PLAN for each Business Unit.
Business Unit leadership team outcomes for the next 12 months that will drive achievement of business objectives are consolidated.
These 1-year outcomes are cascaded into QUARTERLY GROWTH PLANS for each department.
We then implement a leadership team meeting system that (a) drives consistent focus and progress on lead measures, (b) maintains leadership focus on results, and (c) develops leader thinking as they progress to higher levels in the organisation.

HOW THE LEL SYSTEM IS IMPLEMENTED
The phases of implementation are determined by the elements included in the growth strategy.
The general implementation sequence is this.
PHASE 1 - CULTURAL SHIFT TO PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS
Achieve through having all employees and partners participate in a 3-day life & personal leadership coaching event. When the CEO / Business Leader attends this event with all staff and partners, the positive shift in thinking and behaviour a company can experience will astound you.

PHASE 2 - ENTERPRISE LEADERSHIP & IMPROVEMENT FOCUS
A series of workshops are conducted to development execution plans (business unit), and department level quarterly growth plans. 
The leadership team meeting routine and process is enhanced to then drive consistent focus on the right business elements and the critical business numbers.
Note: Department strategies and budgets can also be developed from this planning framework more effectively than without the framework.

PHASE 3 - MOMENTUM & SUSTAINABILITY
Momentum sessions were designed to make sure progress is maintained and the learning process does not end.
The greatest challenge is always sustaining momentum!

PHASE 4 - VALUE STREAM OPTIMISATION
After a period of between 3 months and 6 months, core elements of a business improvement operating system are implemented with the following outcomes:
Value streams are documented and analysed
Improvement opportunities are identified and the improvement project pipeline is created
A business improvement dashboard is developed

At this point in time, a company has the right mindset and systems to successfully implement a continual improvement methodology such as Lean or Six Sigma.
