Healthy Living
The BFF Program
This year, the PTA launched a new program focused on healthy living – The BFF Campaign for Healthy Living. What does that mean? We want to provide the Glebe kids and their families with knowledge about food in order for them to make healthful choices in order to succeed at school. On the fitness side, we also want to encourage the kids to keep moving to keep physically fit. The natural result of these is the development of a healthy lifestyle. We want Glebe students to become their body’s BFF - Best Friend Forever!
Walk, Ride and Roll to Glebe!
As part of this program, Glebers will commit to getting to school by walking, riding their bikes, riding their scooters, etc. on designated days - EVERY TUESDAY ..... read more

The “Glebe Movers”
WHAT IS IT?
Glebe Movers will be a weekly Glebe running/walking group during Wednesday recess and Fridays after school for interested Glebers. Glebe Movers can walk/run/move however they like around the soccer field with their friends and challenge themselves by developing their endurance or distance or speed. The object is to have fun and MOVE!
Ask yourself…. Day 1 – how far can you go?
So, let’s see what we can do from there!
•Our goal is to encourage you and your friends to cumulatively complete either a marathon distance (26.2 miles) or half marathon distance (13.1 miles) by June. (To complete the full marathon, you must average 1.25 miles per week between mid-January and June. Whew! )
•Parent Volunteers will be present to record your progress, and you get tokens to mark the completion of your 1, 5, 10, 13.1, 15, 20, 25 and 26.2 miles!
•In June, we will celebrate all the participants at a tailgate.
•Students who successfully complete either the half marathon or marathon distances will be entered into a drawing for respective prizes.
•PRIZE DRAWINGS:
oHalf marathon Prize – Apple Shuffle
oMarathon Prize – Kindle
