Pasolivo

The road to Pasolivo is called simply Vineyard Drive.

It curves and rolls along rhythmic patterns of vineyards, punctuated by ancient oak trees whose branches arch generously overhead.

We loved the name, and it inspired a beautiful tune that sounds like a wedding dance. Tommy wrote it right after our first trip to Paso Robles, although we had a lot to learn about Pasolivo.

Actually, it is a very special ranch that produces, not wine, but the some of best olive oil in the world.

We were really happy with this little tune and thought that it was just right, until Dan Bradley, Tommy’s songwriting partner, emailed us these lyrics:

Rendezvous with me in California
Where the vines run free to chase the sun
And love and summer wine become a slow dance
Lost in the romance embracing everyone.

Meet me on the road where I first saw you
Dance with me across the fields again
And there beneath the sun near Pasolivo
We will feel the things that
Lovers have always dreamed of…
Waltzing forever in love.

Now, tell me you didn’t get a tear in your eye.
