Robert George and I collaborated well together to capture the design of the logo for his newly completed recording studio in Asheville.  A state-of-the-art facility with a symbolic balance that will surely capture and refine the best that artistry has to offer...

“This is a photograph taken during Hurricane Katrina’s path through Miami... long before it was even in the consciousness of the Gulf Coast.

My apartment was a 1920’s boathouse, riverside on a Farm in Little Haiti. The 2nd floor views were really beautiful and I was able to capture so much life on film there.  Including the energy of the big storms that have conquered Florida for eons.”

“It’s interesting how every storm has a different color, depending on the time of day (or night) when you are in the deep thralls of their fury.  Katrina was orange and rusty, while the photos of Hurricane Wilma are totally blue.”

“Hurricane Wilma was so fierce, that my old riverside shack creaked and twisted.  I was through much of it, terrified for a couple hours.  Rarely in life do we feel that vulnerable anymore.”

“I’ve always had great, inherent respect for Nature.

From the earthquakes i’ve experience when living in Northern Japan, to the hurricanes from my past 20 yrs in South Florida,,, in my experience, I  hope I am NEVER in the fury of another hurricane.”

This artwork, was literally created while Obama gave his inauguration speech in January 2009.

The original 20” x 20” metallic photo print, titled “Hope”, will be donated to the archives for the Presidential Library of Barack Obama.

Love him or hate him, this work is objective and bi-partisan.  Predicting the chaos and distortion of a controversial man and his Presidency, during a precipice in USA history.  Symbolizing a time where change isn’t a joke anymore and Hope may be all we have.

A limited edition of 10 aluminum 12” TILEZ were also created of this inspiring work of art.
