The Kendall Katwalk is accessed by the Pacific Crest Trail. Beginning at a trail head near Snoqualmie Pass it climbs through forest and berry bushes (yum!) to these gorgeous vistas.
As we climb out of the forest,
we arrive at this boulder field
and stop to admire the view.
We have a spectacular day.
Looking up at the contrast of green and rock.
Then I turn to look back
and – oh my gosh!
It is Mount Rainier.
Red Mountain looms close and large.
And there is the “Katwalk.”
Blasted out of the granite side of a mountain,
you can even see where the dynamite was placed
as you walk the trail.
Yep, it is straight down from those rocks.
We continue on the trail
to this lovely area
a perfect place for relaxation
and lunch.
Our return to the Katwalk in
spectacular afternoon sunlight.
One last stop to enjoy the view,
before entering the cool dark of the forest.
