King’s Lynn Quakers
Quakers believe that our own experience guides us towards God and towards God's will. Scriptures and the wisdom of others can help us, but God's spirit speaks to each of us and it is our task to try to hear and understand it. Quakers try very hard to listen to their consciences, which is one way the Spirit speaks to us.
The official title of the Quaker movement is the Religious Society of Friends and Quakers are often referred to as 'Friends'. There are about 28,000 members of the Society in Britain, but many more in America and other parts of the world.
