Clinically Insignificant Cancer

Clinically insignificant cancer is a indolent, slow growing disease in many patients and may not pose a threat during a patient’s lifetime.

The challenge is to identify those patients who are not likely to experience significant progression.
These are some of the parameters I consider in the decision making process.
* a gleason score less than 7
* PSA less than 4
* the majority of patients with T1c

Many patients with clinically insignificant cancer are best served with minimally invasive options.
