The German Culture Center-UMSL presented the Northwinds Concert Band in a benefit concert for the German School Association of St. Louis.  Larry Marsh directed with Renate Gerloff as narrator. The concert featured an arrangement for band and narrator based upon the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, “The Steadfast Tin Soldier.”  Another work told the story of “The Bremen Town Musicians.”  The narration was in German, but there were helpful notes in English.

      Northwinds rounded out the concert with marches and folk songs.
