Following 16 years of intensive activity promoting Folk Arts, Yorkshire Dales Workshop will be wound up as a limited company in 2009. However this web site - www.ydw.org.uk will continue to be published with information about the annual Scandinavian Festival and regular weekly and monthly activities initiated by YDW (but now continuing independently) and with links to other folk arts organisations and activities.

YDW Publications (books, CDs, videos, multimedia learning resources) continue to be available and include free on-line resources (see navigation sidebar) as well as resources which you can buy on line.

A small not-for-profit organisation working to promote awareness, appreciation and participation in Folk Arts in the community, YDW has helped to establish and develop community choirs, ceilidh bands and dance clubs, as well as encouraging young performers, players, singers and dancers at all levels. This has been, not only with the help of grants, but also with a tremendous amount of help from many who have given hours of free labour to enable us to make things happen. We are profoundly grateful to all of you who have helped.
