A Single Drop
After leaving her home in NYC, work and all her worldly belongings after 9/11, Gemma’s mission began and the momentum of the Million Voice Choir began to build.
In 2004, after traveling around the world on this global peace mission she opened A Single Drop, a non-profit organization in the United States, to expand her mission. A Single Drop was formed to be the charitable foundation that would increase Gemma’s capacity to share the message of “Water, Music and Unity: A Pathway to Peace and Global Harmony” on a bigger scale. She began to receive invitations to be a featured speaker and performer at international conferences and gatherings promoting peace and sustainability. She quickly became a respected voice in global water awareness and a strong advocate promoting water as a human right.
The Million Voice Choir was A Single Drop’s landmark project to begin a global wave of change. A Single Drop expanded it’s scope by hosting an international water conference, creating water curriculum for elementary school students and volunteering in disaster ridden areas.
In 2006, A Single Drop grew from being an organization that promotes water advocacy, to a source for water education, to a disaster relief volunteer hub, and has since evolved into a grassroots humanitarian aid agency that works in developing countries to empower communities to have safe drinking water.
Merging advocacy with action, Gemma’s leadership has guided A Single Drop to become a leading grassroots water organization. Gemma is the recipient of the Queen Latifah for Cover Girl CG Vibes Award, honoring women using music to create positive change. She has also won the international Echoing Green Fellowship, supporting Social Entreprenuers with innovative ideas for social change.
A Single Drop’s Million Voice Choir was the first “drop” that has rippled out into local and global communities united towards a peaceful and sustainable future.

Dear special friend Gemma,
Nazareth, the largest Arab city in Israel (70.000 resident), Nazareth the home of Jesus sends you its blessings and wish you the best success in your peace project “A Million Voices One Peace”. Here in Nazareth we are sharing by singing “We Rise”, competitions through different peace projects and activities.
The most fun which gave our kids happiness and hope [ besides your wonderful song] were the drawings about the peace the kids drew and every kid brought the most dear things for him and they talked about their choice.. why did they chose this or that thing. They expressed their feelings especially in this international peace day.
