A few minutes ago I finished a very small, but still big project. Two of my friends are competing in a big singing contest on saturday and there is a requirement for everyone to record their song beforehand. I have no idea why that is but I don’t care so I did the job. The band Bermúda from Reykjavík recorded the band and I finished the recording by recording the two singers, 2x saxophones and a trumpet.
That’s not a lot of work but still. I suspect that there will be released a CD with all the songs from the contest. The only thing I know is that I get paid for this but still don’t really know how much I should charge.
Maybe I’ll post a sample of the song, if I’m allowed. It’s not good though because the bands recording was really bad and sounded like a drum machine with some MIDI instruments.

Maybe very few people will notice this, but I’m writing about it anyways. I’ve just changed the theme / overall look of the site because I find this much more professional and sleek. It’s minimalistic and I like it, so I’m pretty sure I will keep it this way.
There’s not much news besides the two big projects I had didn’t work out as I wanted. There were technical problems so we had to abort the projects.

Anyways, I do have others coming up and I will post more info later when I know more myself.

I went to Reykjavík on friday and have been here since. I’ve gotta say that this is probably the best trip to Reykjavík ever. I’ve had so much fun but what makes it so great are two phonecalls I got, one yesterday and one today.
Önundur Pálsson, a friend of mine who is a professional recording engineer and is the owner of Tankurinn, called me up and told me that he had a job for me.
The first call was to ask me if I was up to the job of recording the WHOLE Aldrei Fór Ég Suður festival in my hometown. That’s a two day festival with over 30 bands, and a festival I love and have been looking forward to for a long time. This was an honor to be asked to do this so of course I am going to take the job.
The second call was to ask me if I wanted to record the two bands “Bogomil Font” and “Milljarðarmæringarnir” which are very well known and consist of some of the best musicians here in Iceland.

I’m going to have a busy week, that’s for sure!

Finally the website is done, at least for now. I’ve made a big update since the first blog post, adding a lot of music and information.
I’m going to keep this post short because I don’t really have a lot to write.
Please look around the site and listen to all the song samples, and if any song doesn’t work, please comment below and inform me so I can fix it.

Hi!

This is my new website, dedicated to my oncoming music career. When you read “oncoming music career” you might think that I’m aiming for fame and glory. That’s not it but I will be aiming for some recognition.
Anyways, I just recently got the motivation to really go forward with this. My friend Biggi (Bix) is making an album as we speak. I’m involved with it and it’s great! I’m seeing him enjoying his own music being made into a product for others to enjoy. Not only is it fun to play with him but also can get involved with the recording process.
What I’m aiming for in the future is to get recognition as a musician and recording engineer.

Enough said, I’m going to update the site!
