Piece of Cake
The Rules are simple.
Shelly and Bryan will each post one Thing every weekday (M-F) between midnight and midnight. The time will be determined by the time stamp on the blog.
Each player starts the contest with five base passes. The current Pass Count will always be posted in the box on the right and may be updated daily.
If Shelly or Bryan does not post at least one Thing by the allotted time, they will be forced to take a pass. When the passes reach zero, the person with zero loses. They owe the winner a base sum of 50 dollars plus ten dollars for each unused pass on the winner’s side. Team passes are not considered in the winner’s sum.
Shelly and Bryan can also agree to take a Team Pass. This is when both players agree to take a weekday off. If the Team Passes are used up, each player will then be forced to take an individual pass if they do not post at least one Thing in the allotted time.
As a reward, each player will receive one extra pass on the first day of the month. This is the only extra passes each player can obtain. The original five passes do not refresh. One extra Team Pass is awarded at the first of every even numbered month starting June 2007.
The contest starts on the first weekday after April 1st, 2007. Things can be created starting April first. Things cannot be stacked or rollover to the next weekday. For example, two Things posted on Tuesday does not count toward Wednesday’s Thing requirement. That said, it is the posting of the Thing that meets the daily requirement, not the creation or even completion of a Thing.
As always, exemptions may be made due to technological acts of God, as determined on a case-by-case manner by each of the participants.
The contest may be ended early by written statements from each of the participants. However, this is highly discouraged. The winner will be the one with the highest pass count and will be paid as if they had won the contest outright. If there is a tie in pass counts, each player must shred a fifty dollar bill in front of the other.
These rules may be subject to change if a voting element is added to the contest.
