End of the Season notes

Skiers: Please be sure to get your program evaluations into us, as well as your goals sheet for next year. Summer dry land will begin in late June, after the high school spring sports season. In the mean time, be sure to:
  1. clean your skis (they may need a simple hot scrape) and put a storage wax on them for the summer
  2. reflect on the season and write down your thoughts, and send in your program evaluation and your goals sheet to Scottie (this is NOT optional!).
  3. confer with Scottie, Dennis, or Jay about your spring and summer training plans. Ask for guidance, we are here to help you - but we can only help you plan, we can’t train for you!
  4. consider what you are planning to do this summer - work, travels, training, relaxing, and enjoying time with family and friends. Think and plan how you will fit your summer dryland work into all of this. Remember, summer is the time to put in your endurance base, and you will need it come next season!

Note from Scottie:

welcome back to winter!  although I haven't gotten on skis, I did enjoy a long snowshoe yesterday.  It's nice to have a brief reprieve from mud season...

It's also timely to have a winter landscape for your reflection, evaluation, and early planning for next year.

Please take some time this weekend to complete these parts of the season - and the Ford Sayre forms you received in the mail, which are a required component of your participation in the program.

Evaluations and future goals are due Tues April 10th, which means getting them in the mail by Monday.  Dennis, Jay, Greg and I look forward to including your reflections and suggestions in our look back/look ahead process.

thanks, and enjoy the weekend!

Scottie

Early April brought us a quick, wet 9” of snow, to remind us of what we will be looking forward to come November. These are some pictures I took at work earlier this week. -Greg

Parents/Skiers:

Regarding the photo book: I have put an order in for those of you who requested one. If anyone else would like one, let me know and I can put in a second order. Also, I have put a pfd version of the book here. It is big file (19MB).

The most recent story is about reflecting on the past season, not just for US Ski Team skiers, but for all members of the US nordic skiing community. Check it out here.
