We are looking at purchasing a video microscope for use in programs. This could be used on the exhibit floor by staff and volunteers, in classes in the the classroom, or presentations in the theater.

Here are a few images captured with the ProScope video microscope we are testing to see if we would like to purchase it for the Museum. All images were captured with the video scope onto a mac with the software that comes with the scope.

For exhibit floor use we would use a model that connects directly into a tv or other video monitor. Very simple, no computer needed, very nice sharp image.

In addition to images, I have two short videos of a phantom midge and daphnia on this page. All images were quickly made, without any post-image manipulation in iPhoto, photoshop, etc. So they could be much better.

Video Microscope Test for Montshire

Below are two movies also captured with the Proscope video microsope. Each movie was made by hooking the video camera of the scope directly to one of our Brock microscopes in the classroom. One image is of the internal organs of a phantom midge larva, the other of a daphnia.
