He Gives and Takes Away
 
I recently learned I am going to be a grandfather. My son Ryan and his wife Alli are going to have a baby girl in September. The picture on the left is an ultrasound of her. She is beautiful! Everyone in our family is excited.
Then last week, I flew back to Cincinnati because my mom was admited to the hospital with severe heart failure. We were able to be wth her and talk to her for a few days before she passed away on May 21.  The picture on the right is the last picture I have of her. It was taken in March when she came to visit us.
I don’t really have words to explain all I am feeling lately. I know with the world news of earthquakes and huricanes, there is alot of personal suffering going on. As I personally deal with all of this, I keep singing the words to the song...”He gives and takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!”
And then today, as I was preparing to write this blog, we received news that one of our staff person’s husband was thrown off his horse and killed. I must tell you I do not understand all of this sometimes. But I know that God has put me in this place to praise His name and that is what I’m going to do....
