Nanny’s last baby, Jennie’s youngest brother. He was only a little older than Peggy. Gladys described him as always into everything, “a pistol”. He’d put the kids on his back and ride his bike and they’d fall and get dirty and cry. “Mama would want to kill him.” John was a baby when his father died so he did pretty much what he wanted to do. Jennie looked after him and took care of him as a baby. He was “full of devilment”. Jennie would give him a quarter and tell him to go home when he caused too much trouble.
Gladys was uncertain about this picture. She said the boy on the right was John Hart (Jennie’s brother) and that the baby on the far left was her. She said that Cousin Elizabeth lived across the street at the Ross’s and they called her “Lizard”.

The Harts and Ross’s lived in large houses in Surrency and were like one big family.

The back of the picture is labeled “June 1917”.
