Let’s be honest about it.
If bridges were built like software, you would be afraid to walk on them. [see movie ⇒⇒⇒ ]

My software works because it relentlessly pursues:
              1) simplicity,
              2) visibility and
              3) control.

I use simple, sturdy, minimalist methods:
               1) small independent programs, coordinated by
               2) data and
               3) events.

In every setting: businesses & universities, government & military,
factories & warehouses, transportation & communications,  local & worldwide
Simple software handles complex workloads - better and more reliably.

A true story about the importance of simplicity:
I grew up in my Dad's machine shop near Atlanta where I learned the value of simplicity in automated hardware built for manufacturing, textiles and aerospace. I have carried these design principles of minimum parts count, etc over to software as well.

One upon a time,  I designed and built my own computers - some of the first UNIX machines sold for commercial use. These machines were popular with computing professionals  such as IBM, Foxmeyer, Lawrence Livermore Labs, NOAA, Texas A&M, Uzzi, etc. because of their simplicity, reliability and maintainability.

Besides the electronics, My initial computer had 7 parts. All screws were the same size and made out of steel [to be picked up by a magnet]. Remove 6 screws and the whole interior was accessible. We shipped each machine with a wrench that fit the screws. Although my standard color was black, I had one customer who wanted them blue, so I made theirs blue. You can see why they were so popular out in the field in weather stations, pharmacies, etc.

Then a big computer company took over my small one. They wanted to redesign the original machine. Their replacement had 43 parts and 15 different sizes of screws - some were even brass [non-magnetic].  They would deliver black only - no custom colors.

Their new machine was a failure and they never understood why.

I would be glad to assist your staff or build what you need myself,

from sweeping floors to building corporate computer systems,

I have done it before. [sometimes even got a T-shirt.]
