FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
There has been mention of a theater/restaurant much like the ones located in :
Texas-Alamo Brewhouse
Bagdad Theater & Pub (McMenamins)-Portland, Oregon

The type of entertainment that is shown there are -T.V programs - like “LOST” and “Heros”- Monday Night football and the movies they show are all on the older side charging $3 cover -never a chance for a new indie release. W/ mediocre food(bar type food-with an endless menu)

I personally don’t care for eating my meal while watching a movie-
I would much rather eat at a nice restaurant-with ambiance -
where I can have nice conversation with my partner/partners - then come to the Theater for some drinks and a show.

what if we are showing a foreign film w/ subtitles? - are you going to raise your plate up to your face so you can read the film?

What if your meal comes out wrong? (what are the chances of that happening?)
-are you going to ring in the waitress during the movie and disrupt the other movie patrons?

I thought the idea of the Federal/North block was to attract new retail and restaurants?
Why would we corner the market of “DINNER AND A MOVIE?”
Plus we have Legend’s and Monterey Pub.

This was already tried a few years ago in Latrobe Pa. by Cinema Consultants.-
It closed in 6 months.

I agree that this Theater must be unique -
I just don’t think Pittsburgh would go for that concept.

Don’t you think Southside Works would of tried this theater/restaurant concept-
if they thought it would be profitable?

Please read through this detailed proposal I submitted to the URA in 2007.
You should also know that I made the cut along w/ Rubinoff and Pgh History & Landmarks.
Neither had a plan for the Garden.
I have done much research on 1 screen movie theaters across the country,
and what is lacking in the way we go to the theater.
People want more for their money.
I know that I came up with a plan that should excite you and had a business plan put together by Katz-(Univ. of Pitt Business ) proving that this theater can sustain itself with little help from foundations.

After a decision was made w/ the URA working things out w/ PH&LF - Arthur Zeigler called me in to discuss my plans for the Garden-things were looking good.
Then PH&LF backed out.
So here we are again.

This should be the community’s theater w/ input from the locals.
Plus check out the programs for the youth on film making.
There is a ton of info and ideas in this plan.
SEE THE ABOVE MENU TO CONTINUE ON WITH THE VISION

Please spread the word.
