Winners and Runners Up of the English Teachers' Award

2008

The English Inspectorate is pleased to announce the winners and the runners up of the

English Teachers' Award for 2008.  The three winners have been awarded an all-expense

paid trip to the TESOL Conference (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

in New York City, arranged and financed by the American Embassy.

As Chief Inspector for English Language Education, recognizing dedication and

excellence in teaching is a top priority.  The teachers who were chosen as recipients have

made extremely valuable contributions, both to classroom teaching and to the broader

Israeli EFL community.  Their work reflects dedication, professionalism and inspiration

and is worthy of emulation.  On behalf of the English Inspectorate, congratulations!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the American Embassy for their

generous contribution to English teaching in Israel.

To get a good overview of the connections Marsha has created for her students, one must simply visit her website, http://www.globaldreamers.org.  Thousands of students have been touched by her zeal to create meaningful learning experiences for as many students as can be reached.


The Glass Class and others of the Husky Howler Staff have exchanged more than 1,000 emails this past school year.  The writings, art, and slide shows of their projects is spread throughout her website.  In turn, many of the stories of Marsha’s Kids are published in the Husky Howler. 


The Holocaust Unit displays work of many Harrison students and a number of Power Point lessons created by our 6th grade students.  Marsha wrote a beautiful story about her mother and her survival in the Nazi camps.  The Husky Howler editors were pleased to publish that article in the most recent of their magazines.  Please read it on the “Publications” page.


Marsha is indeed a Master Educator.  We look forward to many years of shared learning with her and her students.
