‘Betsy’s Closet’
I promised to show you my new designs as they are completed. . . so here’s the first of the new quilts that will “officially” make their debut at Fall Market.
This one is called, “Betsy’s Closet”. (sorry the photo is a little blurry.)
‘Betsy’s Closet’ (I gave a little peek here) is made with the new line of LakeHouse fabrics called, ‘Doll Dresses’ . . . & since I have loved paper dolls since I was a little girl (& still do!) . . well, I just couldn’t help myself. I had such a ball making all the little outfits for this design. (In fact. . . there are so many ideas running around in my head. . . I’m thinking there will (need to) be additions to Betsy’s wardrobe in the future! . . .
Here are a few of her little outfits -
When I named this quilt. . . the name ‘Betsy’ just felt right. . . I didn’t know why. Then Pam reminded me that when we were little - McCalls magazine used to always have a paper doll in them, & her name was ‘Betsy McCall’. I had forgotten all about that! (& yes Pam. . . I do remember them! ) No wonder the name ‘Betsy’ just seemed to fit. What a great memory!
So there it is . . . the first quilt preview of the season . . .
More to come!
