A Little Comfort

That’s my wish for today. For so many reasons & people, but especially for my Mom & for my Dad. . . . more on that in a few days. . .  But. . . in this spirit - I thought what better way to wish comfort for someone than with quilts. To me, the thought of a quilt brings to mind comfort right away. . .
So I would love to share with you some of my favorite quilts that I have taken photos of  -  from the quilt shows that I have been at this past year. I am always amazed at the beautiful quilts that are being made my folks who do so quietly, without fanfare, & pour their time & hearts into their quilt.
I hope you enjoy

May you find comfort & joy in your day!

There’s just something about a Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt. . . that grabs my heart each time. . .
This vintage quilt is what I really love - so scrappy & embraces the florals & none patches that I love! I can see this quilt layered with a solid whole-cloth quilt like this, & even other floral quilts. . .  sigh.
Another Grandmother’s Flower Garden. . .  this time made with the Moda’s Seaside Rose line . . . (one of my very favorite all time fabric lines. . . )  I would love to own this quilt & in fact - I have stored away a “ton” of this line. . . & I think I now know what it will become. . .!
This was a stunning applique quilt that took my breath away. . . (close-ups below). The best part was meeting a good friend of the lady who made it & who gave some background information on her friend & the making of this quilt. . .
For me that’s part of the beauty & another part of the comfort factor behind our quilts. . .  the stories that lie behind & within  them. . .
