108 Bombs On The Way
This is a very abbreviated clip of the actual movie that is described below.
This slide show movie was produced in an attempt to re-create the approximation of an actual B-52 mission in SEA from the arrival of the bombs through to the post mission de-brief. I solicited and used as many pictures as possible from others in an attempt to produce a movie in which as many as possible might recognize someone or something with the objective of creating a product that documents, for families and fellow service members into the future, the genre of the SAC crews in performing their mission.
I was fortunate to have permission to use music from “The Right Stuff” and “Victory at Sea” along with USAF B-52 movie clips from the era and approval from USAF to use my crew mission tape over Hanoi on the night of 20 Dec, ’72.
The movie, at 3.5 Gb on a quality DVD, is eight and one half minutes long and includes the significant events of 15 minutes over Hanoi starting with Chestnut 1 calling “SAM TTR....” The movie also shows people and familiar scenes from the region as visited by many crews.
I believe this movie shows the true character, dedication and professionalism of the SAC crews in a “Press-On” mission that brought the Vietnam Conflict to a close, and should be preserved for future generations to remember this proud moment.
Available only to B-52 crews and supporting personnel for personal use. Not to be broadcast in any manner per agreement with music providers.
