i can relate to the truman show. it is like people are watching my every move. i am watching my every move. It is sort of like i have a mirror with me all the time and i look at me (yuck). my own story is interesting... if i am the audience. i know there is something more then what i can do and there is something wonderful right around that is from the Father. the problem is i must stop writing and give the pen to the Author and Perfecter of my faith. So what is the Story of God? Not I but Christ... who by the way lives in me. It is like in a typical movie when the hero, the star is surrounded by the crowds and the camera captures the person in various ways. But in the background there are people who are apart of the film (which i would imagine this is still exciting) but are not the central figure. That is a humbling moment for the aspiring actor. but that is the Story of God! Christ is central. He is the hero. By His Grace He lets us be apart of the redemptive plan that has, is and will unfold before the believers very eyes. so practically - how do i live this life? you don’t. you can’t. But He does and He will. to get at the heart of this I cannot help but to think of Romans chapter six (the most important chapter of the bible in my opinion). We have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer us who live but Christ lives in and thru us... we walk in newness of life/ a resurrected life. It is through our identification with Christ... if you would like to get theological... that we find ourselves caught up in the Story of God. The cross is not only payment for sins but death to self (actually we reckon ourselves dead - it is already done). The Cross is the means of being placed in christ and Christ by the Spirit being placed in us. So I long for students to come face to face with Jesus Christ every day. To encounter, experience the living Christ. the real Christ. the faithful Christ. the fierce Christ. the tender Christ. the approachable Christ. the humbling Christ. the radical Christ. the thoughtful Christ. the forgiving Christ. To Encounter the ____________ Christ is connecting to the Story of God.
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in( newness of life. Romans 6:4
For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 1 Cor. 2:2
For we are his workmanship (this word is where we get the English word poem), created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Eph. 2:10
