What do you get -

when you cross a poodle with a hairless dog?  It sounds like a bad joke but the answer is this:

AND this:

That’s right readers, we’re now the proud parents of two, count ‘em two, Chinese Crested Poodles or ChiPoos or whatever you wanna call them.  I heard back from that lady on craigslist and we drove out look at them last night.  As you can imagine, Diesel fell in love with one, and Kinhly fell in love with the other.....hence, two dogs living at my house now.
They’re sisters who were born of a Chinese Crested mommy and a Poodle daddy.   They’re just 5 months old.  As you can probably see, they’re mostly hairless with is really good for potential allergy issues that may arise.  They also have a long skin cycle which allows them to be listed on AKC’s People and Allergies list.  Kinhly picked out the white one and Diesel picked out the black one.  While they came to us without names, my kids have given them several each other the last 12 hours.  The white one started out as “Blue”, but was quickly changed to “Jessica”, and then was settled on “Sally”.  So there you have it.  Sally:

The black one on the other hand started out at “Chris-ch-anna” (Diesel likes to make names up), but then was changed to “Jacky” this morning.  And here we have Jacky:

So those are the final names.  Jacky and Sally....sound familiar to anyone?  I’ll have to give some sort of prize to the first one who can give me the reference.
Having them be sisters is really great.  They’re used to sleeping together and have really comforted each other during this crazy time.  Last night they just snuggled and played in their huge crate until the wee hours of the night.  Finally at like 1:30a they started to bark, but once I turned out the final kitchen light and it was really dark in the dining room, I didn’t hear from them again all night.  Now their wondering around trying to get the feel for life in our house.  Good luck dogs.  haha
I’m so sad because the way the last week has been, I have NO energy to do anything for Tet.  I’m certainly not going to be able to find the time to clean.  We’ll be lucky if I can get myself out for Pho.  Why does this happy every year??  I feel so bad for it but Feb. is always so busy for us!  Speaking of Feb., does anyone have any special plans for Leap Year?
On the sickness front, it looks as though Diesel has pneumonia.  He’s hyped up on antibiotics and cold meds.  It’s making for strange short bursts of energy followed by periods of falling asleep where ever he stands.  Sounds scary but really it’s just cute.  I’m hoping that tomorrow will be the magic back-to-school-day for him.  He’s missed a week of school and it’s really starting to get to me.
Oh, I have to say that it was Melissa’s “fault” that we got dogs.  She and I were chatting and she put the bug in my ear about getting a dog.  I took the ball and ran with it.  Sorry hon!  I told her that if they end up being a pain in the ass, I’m going to ship them to her.  haha
