3. PREPARE ONE SONG
Pick one song from the list below to prepare for your audition. Pick the song based on the venue(s) you’re interested in participating in. You’ll perform this song with a rhythm section for our audition panel. We may also have a song or two for you to learn or read on the spot.(You can click on the song title to download the chart. Note: Charts may not match original recordings, since many venues at Saddleback have their own unique versions.)

ON THE DAY OF AUDITIONS
1. Come to the audition check-point in modular 206 (located in the middle of the campus near tent 3) at least 30 minutes before your audition time so you’re fully warmed up and ready to play.
2. When the panel is ready for you, a volunteer will take you to Tent 3 for your auditions. That’s it! (Please give us at least 3 weeks to contact you after your audition.)
WHAT TO BRING
Drummers bring sticks, mallets, brushes, etc. Whatever you feel you need for your audition. Please do not bring cymbals, snare drums etc.. A complete drum kit will be provided for you. You may bring a single kick drum pedal if you feel its necessary.
Keyboardists bring your fingers. We’ll provide a Yamaha C300 or S90 as well as a Hammond B3 (if you’re comfortable working those drawbars! )
Acoustic Guitarists bring your acoustic guitar only. Please, no pre-amps or outboard gear. Don’t forget your picks, capos and extra strings!
Electric Guitarists bring one electric guitar and a simple pedal setup - one drive pedal, one delay pedal if at all possible. Make it very easy to setup as you will one have seconds to plug in and be ready to play. If you have a pedal board that only requires one AC outlet, that’s fine too. An amp will be provided so please don’t bring yours, even if it rocks . Don’t forget picks, capo, extra ¼” cable.
Percussionists should bring a small set of “toys” (shaker, tambourine). We will provide congas, bongos, wind chimes and a toys table.
