The selection for 2008 programme has now been completed






Selection panel:

Zoë Shearman (independent curator); Dominic Thomas (Stroud Valleys Artspace), Elena Hill (Contemporary Art Programming) and Fiona Kam Meadley (War & Peace).

We are looking to put together a one hour long showreel of different work that will be screened at three venues on World Peace Day (Sunday 21 September 2008). The screenings will be part of an event to include speakers and audience discussion.

The participating venues:

• The Arnolfini, Bristol
• Stroud Valleys Artspace
• The Museum of Bath at Work

Fees:

A screening fee of £100 will be paid per selected artist, plus a contribution towards travel costs to attend a screening, and a copy of the compilation DVD of the selected work. Details of work shown at War & Peace 07 and War & Peace 06 can be found on


RULES:

1. Submission:
The Call is open to original work produced since 2006. If appropriate, work in other languages must be subtitled in English. “War & Peace” is free to enter. Include a signed entry form per work together with DVD preview copies and your CV. Multiple works can be sent on one disc. Please mark the disc with title, running time, name. Postal and any insurance costs are at the entrant's expense. We will endeavour to acknowledge receipt. If you require the return of your preview DVD please include an SAE.

2 . Selection:
Selected works will be archived for exhibition-use only at “War & Peace” events. Selected artists will be informed about the usage of their work (including pre event publicity and post event weblog). Programming is at the discretion of the selection panel, and we regret no dialogue can be entered into regarding selection decision.

3. Sub-masters:
For screening purposes works will be compiled from miniDV or miniDVCAM to DVD-R. Please, no Betacam or film reels. Transportation of the sub-master (no originals) will be at the expense of the entrant, and these will be returned by end August 2008. The organisers will accept responsibility for technical damage, or other destruction, loss or theft only during the time that sub-masters are in our possession; tapes and DVDs are insured for duplication and replacement media costs only.

2. Deadline:
Entries must reach us by 11 July 2008.
