Welcome to my site
A couple of months ago, my lovely friend Joanne Schweitzer was diagnosed with lung mets from breast cancer. This meant that she was going to undergo her third course of chemotherapy.
A group of us, who have been friends for nearly 5 years through an internet Breast Cancer Support Board, decided that we would show her how loved and supported she is by setting up a schedule of gift-sending throughout her ordeal. One of us, Rhonda, immediately began sewing her a quilt, with a square for an embroidered personal message for each of us to Joanne. I began knitting. I knitted her a hat, and then a small rug. But somehow it just didn’t feel like it was enough.
“What would I like to receive if I was in her situation?” I thought. And I kept coming to the same conclusion. The thing that I would like best to receive would be a visit. So that’s what i decided to do.
And this is the journal of that visit.... and the visits surrounding it.
Enjoy.
