OPRworkshop.org - our own little piece of paradisehttp://www.oprworkshop.orgshapeimage_1_link_0

“Welcome to what we hope will be a vibrant community of volunteers sharing their techniques and ideas with each other in an effort to best restore priceless photos damaged by Hurricane Katrina.  Please pull up a chair and tell us a little about yourself and then participate in a growing list of forums dedicated to restoring memories for those affected by last year's storm.” - introduction to OPRworkshop.org

OPR’s forums were created by volunteer John Matthews. John saw a need for a community in which all of our volunteers can come together to get to know each other, ask for help with restorations and share helpful advice and tricks of the trade. I just repeated exactly what the introduction stated. Can anyone guess who’s suffering from writer’s block? Here’s a hint: it’s me!

One of the coolest features of the forum is that you’ll be able to post your restoration work for others to see, critique and/or offer ideas on how to improve the image.

A great deal of gratitude should be heaped on John. In fact, bury him in thanks. He not only brought the idea to the table, more importantly he followed through and brought it to life. John will also serve as the main moderator for the forums.

Please take some time to check out OPRworkshop.org and register as a member. I think everyone will find something useful on the site. It is our hope that the forums will help make the organization stronger.

TIDBITS:
Apparently, I have a limit as to how many emails I can send per day. Otherwise, I may be labeled a spammer. That poses a problem when we need to put out information to the whole membership of OPR.

Until, I get this situation figured out this will be the last time that I send out an email alert that the blog has been updated. So please either subscribe to the RSS feed (you can do this on the blog’s main page by clicking the RSS link) or check for updates on a regular basis.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN:
Becky and I are on the road again. This time we’re off to Tampa, FL to attend a National Press Photographers Association function. Some OPR news will develop during that conference and I’ll report on it when we get back on Monday.

Until then, I hope everyone experiences some good in their lives.
Dave
