Having concluded that AT&T has no cellular coverage in too many places where i travel and live -- in other words, having concluded that an iPhone would have no cellular service, far too often, if i had one in my pocket -- i’ve been looking for another mobile handset suited to my changing communications needs: texting and blogging on the go, sending photos and videos from the road, and real Internet access on the run.
Voyager has IM, email and web,
a video camera, touchscreen, plus qwerty keyboard – everything for my social media compulsions.
Verizon Wireless is the only mobile service with coverage at Hearth Hill, and most other places I go, so I’m limited to the phones they currently sell.  And the new touchscreen Voyager, made by LG, seems like the best option I’ve got.  The next time I chat with or write to you, it could be the tool I’m using.

In a nutshell:  It’s got a few features the iPhone lacks, notably a great keyboard (for so small a device), a video camera, and multimedia messaging (aka MMS).  But it lacks much of the “everything just works” magic that Apple does so well; for example, their is no ability to synchronize with the address book or calendar on your computer (neither Windows nor Mac). How stupid is that? (I’m hoping that some third party software appear to fix this ridiculous limitation.)

Nonetheless, if you’re stuck with Verizon, and you’re looking for a new phone that’s ready to do a lot more than just talk --and willing to pay an extra couple hundred for it -- you can learn more about the Voyager here:
