His bio includes being the first publisher of a novel under a Creative Commons license. He makes all his books available for free online, which actually helps him get publishing deals for, and sales of, his books in traditional hardcopy form. Whether you like his brand of near-future science fiction, or not, his professional life should interest anyone writing or publishing in the 21st century.
